2.2 Content Data

When you use our services, we process:

  • Video files you upload
  • Transcripts generated from your videos
  • Subtitles and captions
  • Processed output files

2.3 Payment Information

When you purchase a subscription or Hourly Pass, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. Stripe may share with us limited information such as your billing email, last four digits of your card, and transaction history. 2.4 Usage Information

We automatically collect:

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, access times)
  • Device information
  • Usage patterns and feature preferences
  • Daily task usage counts (to enforce free-tier limits)
  • Subscription and Hourly Pass status
  • Analytics data via Google Analytics (page views, session duration, interactions)

2.5 Guest Usage

You may use certain features of the Service without creating an account. When you use the Service as a guest, we collect a session identifier stored in your browser's local storage to associate your uploaded content with your browser session. We also collect the same usage information described in Section 2.3.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Process and complete transactions
  • Send you technical notices and support messages
  • Respond to your comments and questions
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues

4. Video Content Processing

Your video content is processed as follows:

  • Videos are uploaded to secure cloud storage (AWS S3)
  • Content is processed by our servers for the requested operations
  • Transcription uses AI services (OpenAI Whisper) for speech-to-text conversion
  • Guest video outputs may include a small "VideoKit AI" watermark overlay; Pro and Hourly Pass outputs do not
  • Processed files are made available for download
  • Content is automatically deleted after a retention period (24 hours for guest/Hourly Pass users, 7 days for Pro users)

We do not use your video content to train AI models or for any purpose other than providing the requested services.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information with:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS) for file storage (S3) and hosting
  • AI Processing: OpenAI for speech-to-text transcription (Whisper API)
  • Payment Processing: Stripe for subscription billing and one-time payments (Hourly Pass)
  • Analytics: Google Analytics for usage analysis
  • Advertising: Google AdSense for displaying ads to free-tier and non-authenticated users
  • Email: Resend for transactional emails (verification, password reset, notifications)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL)
  • Encryption of data at rest
  • Secure password hashing (bcrypt)
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Access controls and authentication

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information as follows:

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active
  • Video Content: Guest and Hourly Pass users: automatically deleted after 24 hours. Pro users: retained for 7 days.
  • Guest Content: Videos uploaded without an account are automatically deleted after 24 hours
  • Payment Data: Transaction records retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations
  • Usage Logs: Daily task counts reset at midnight UTC; general usage logs retained for up to 90 days

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data
  • Portability: Request transfer of your data
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data

9.1 Essential Storage

  • Authentication tokens: Stored in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in. Cleared when you log out.
  • Session identifiers: Used to associate guest uploads with your browser session

9.2 Analytics

  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data including pages visited, session duration, and interactions. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

9.3 Advertising

  • Google AdSense: We display ads to visitors who are not logged in. Google AdSense may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work properly without them. Logged-in users do not see ads regardless of cookie settings.
